In the Steppun Discount app, you can set a percentage discount with a discount amount limit, such as X% off and a maximum discount amount of $Y. This article will guide you through creating custom discounts using this app.

Create and test your discount

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Discounts.

2. If you have existing discounts from previous tutorials, then click the checkbox next to each of them, and then click Deactivate discounts.

3. Click the Create discount button.

4. Click the Amount off products with amount limits button.

   

5. Fill in values for the discount:

   • For Method, use Automatic.
   • For Title, use Steppun test 30.
   • For Maximum discount amount, use 30.
   • For Discount percentage, use 50.
   • Add specific collection.
   • Under Minimum Purchase Requirements, enter 1 for Minimum Quantity of Item.

6. Click Save. You should see a new discount in the discounts list.

   

7. Open the store.

8. Create a cart with items from the collection that you have added to [Specific Collection] that have a unit price of less than 60. Steppun Test 30 will be applied to the cart and 50% of the unit price will be discounted.

9. Add items to the cart until the unit price per item exceeds 30. 30 discount per item will be applied to the item.

The discount applies only to the unit price of the product, and therefore, it does not apply to the total amount. For example, with the discount settings mentioned above in item 5, if the unit price of the product is 50 and the purchase quantity is 3, the price will be 75 (i.e., total amount of 150 − discount amount of 25 × 3).
