Shopify automatically updates the customer's default address to the shipping address if the shipping address and billing address are different when an order is placed. By using the Addresyo Lock app, you can change the updated customer's default address to the billing address. In this tutorial, you will learn how to use Addresyo Lock after installing it.

<aside> ⚠️ The Addresyo Lock app will not work when dealing with payment methods where the shipping address and billing address are the same.

A. Creating the workflow

  1. Install the application [Shopify Flow].

  2. Go to the app screen of Shopify Flow and click on the [Create Workflow] button.

  3. Click the [Select Trigger] button.

  4. Click on [Order created] in the Shopify Admin API.

  5. Click on [+] and then click on Action.

  6. Click on [Fixed Default Address] in Addresyo Lock.

  7. Check [Apply a tag], and enter "addresyo-lock-tag" in the [Tag name].

  8. Check [Delete a shipping address] checkbox.

  9. Click on the [Turn on Workflow] button.

B. Test the created workflow (fix default address)

Test whether the default address is fixed to the billing address when placing an order.

  1. Go to [Customer Management], create a test customer, and then create an order.
  2. Specify a shipping address different from the billing address.
  3. Select items, click [Collect Payment] > [Mark as Paid], and press [Create Order].
  4. Confirm that the default address matches the billing address at the time of the order.
